Heather grew up in Minnesota where she was a multi-sport athlete earning first-team all-state honors in volleyball, basketball, and track.  On the hardwood, Heather was a four year starter, four year all-conference player, and three time 1st team all-state player.  In high school, Heather‘s AAU club basketball team won a national AAU title. 

 

Heather earned a full-ride scholarship to Colorado State University where she was Western Athletic Conference freshman of the year, earning first-team all-conference honors and three trips to the NCAA tournament. Ranked as high as fourth in the nation, Heather helped the Rams to a sweet 16 appearance and a Mountain West Athletic conference tournament championship where she was named tournament MVP.  Heather had an opportunity to play professionally overseas in Amsterdam, and went on pursue her master’s degree in education with a concentration in mathematics from the University of Colorado-Denver. 

 

Heather has spent the last 24 years teaching 4th-12th graders in Poudre School District, and coaching and training various ages of boys and girls from elementary school through college age. Heather is in her third season as the Sabercat’s head coach and absolutely loves working with her coaching teammates to teach the game to athletes passionate to learn and grow. She is grateful to be a part the SaberCat family.

 

When Heather is not on the court, she loves soaking up time with her four children (Caleb -Junior, Moriah- Freshman, Ethan-Freshman, and Selah-8th), three of which attend Fossil Ridge, and spending time with friends and family biking, hiking, and camping in Colorado’s great outdoors!
